The 2009 Philadelphia Rose of Tralee Selection Ball was a huge success,
thanks to everyone who attended and celebrated with us!

Thanks to all of our amazing Roses. As usual, the judges had a very
difficult task. Every Rose did a beautiful job, and they are all incredible
young women. We are so lucky to have them as part of our Irish
community here in Philadelphia!

The 2009 Philadelphia Rose of Tralee is Jocelyn McGillian of Springfield,

The Rosebuds and Rose Petals stole the show! Thank you so much to
these great little ladies and their families for their participation. You are
such a big part of the Philadelphia Rose of Tralee, and we hope you all
had a fabulous evening!

We can't thank Colleen Tully, our 2008 Philadelphia Rose, enough for
everything she has done for us throughout the past year. She has gone to
great lengths to promote the Rose of Tralee in Philadelphia, and she was
a wonderful ambassador for our center. "Once a Rose, Always a Rose" -
thank you Colleen, and the entire Tully family, for your friendship!

Rosabelle Gifford received the Mary O'Connor Spirit Award last night,
honoring her 50 years of contributions to the Irish community in
Philadelphia. Joined by many family and friends, we were proud to thank
her for all she has done and for being the person she is. She is a true
inspiration and role model for all of us - we love you Rosabelle!

Thanks to our past Philadelphia Roses, especially Noreen, Karen and
Christine, who were in attendance last night. We appreciate your
friendship and support of the Philadelphia Center!

Marianne MacDonald was a spectacular emcee, and we thank her for all
the time and energy she put into this event. Her bubbly personality really
brought out the best in our Roses on stage and we look forward to
working with her in the years to come! Listen to Marianne's radio show on

The Mary Beth Ryan band ROCKED!!! Thank you for keeping us on the
dance floor all night long! Thanks especially to Mary Beth for her
friendship and support of the Rose of Tralee.

Thanks to our judges, Ryan Corbett, Maureen Brett Saxon, Noreen
Donahue McAleer and Dr. Jack Worrall. We didn't give you an easy job,
but you 'rose' to the ocassion and we truly appreciate it!
