
| Jocelyn McGillian 2009 Philadelphia Rose of Tralee Jocelyn McGillian, 22, is from Springfield, PA. She is a recent graduate of Westminster Choir College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Voice Performance. During her four years at Westminster, Jocelyn was able to begin a career in performance. With the Westminster choirs, she was able to perform with the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and many other orchestras in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fischer Hall, and the Kimmel Center. She performed in solo recitals and was cast in a small role in the Opera ‘Dialogues des Carmelites’. Jocelyn just returned from the Spoleto Music Festival in Charleston, SC where she sang with the Westminster Choir and performed a small role in the opera ‘Louise’. She is also a member Anam Cara, a professional recording choir. Jocelyn is a cantor at St. Francis of Assisi church, but sings special occasion masses at many other churches locally. Jocelyn plans to pursue a graduate degree in Music Therapy and is continuing her studies in voice and hopes to continue to perform. Jocelyn is the oldest of five girls. Three of her sisters participated as Rose Buds and Petals. Jocelyn has had the privilege of traveling to Ireland twice, and truly looks forward to returning. Jocelyn’s Irish roots are in Counties Mayo, Donegal, and Tyrone. |
