Focus on Charity
The Philadelphia Rose of Tralee believes in camaraderie, not competition.
We are so lucky to have a wonderful community of young women and families involved with the centre, and believe that we can use our collective strength to give back to the community. In addition, part of the Philadelphia Rose of Tralee's duties include selecting a charity and engaging in activities throughout the year. We welcome you and your family to join us!
Beth's Charity: Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)
Dear Friends,
As the 2011 Philadelphia Rose of Tralee, I have taken up the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) as my charity platform. Throughout the year I plan to gather food and supplies to donate to Philadelphia's only no-kill animal shelter. PAWS has provided me with a wish list and the Philly Rose Centre and I hope to fulfill each of those wishes to the best of our ability.
We will be gathering donations for PAWS. If you would be so kind as to purchase an item from the wish list (see below), the Philly Rose Centre and I would be more than grateful. PAWS wish list:
Canned kitten, cat and dog food (no dry food, please)
Paper towels
Laundry detergent
Bleach
Dog toys - tough toys, such as Kong brand
Contractor size trash bags
We can arrange to pick up donations from you at a later date. We hope to deliver these items to PAWS no later than the second week of August. Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

PAWS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving Philadelphia's homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals. PAWS is the city's largest rescue organization and only no-kill shelter, and is working to make Philadelphia a place where every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home. The Philadelphia Rose of Tralee Team participates in the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure each May in Philadelphia. Annual "Food-Raiser"
The Philadelphia Rose Centre collects non-perishable food items for a local food pantry each December at our annual Santa's Workshop Christmas Celebration. Donations have benefited the Delco Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry and the St. Francis Inn Ministries in Kensington. If you know of a food pantry in need, please let us know at admin@philadelphiarose.com
